With the rapid development of power electronics technology and the switching industry, power electronic devices have become increasingly intertwined with people's work and daily lives. Reliable power supplies are essential for all electronic devices. By the 1980s, computer power supplies had fully transitioned to switching power supplies, leading the way in the power supply upgrade for computers. In the 1990s, switching power supplies began to be widely adopted in various electronic and electrical equipment fields, including programmable switches, communication devices, electronic testing equipment, and control equipment. The widespread use of switching power supplies in these areas has further accelerated the rapid development of switching power supply technology.
With the rapid development of power electronics technology and the switching industry, power electronic devices have become increasingly closely related to people's work and life. Reliable power supplies are essential for electronic devices. Since the 1980s, computer power supplies have fully realized the switch-mode power supply (SMPS) transformation, leading the power supply upgrade for computers. In the 1990s, SMPS has been widely adopted in various electronic and electrical equipment fields, such as programmable switching systems, communication devices, electronic testing equipment, and control equipment. This has further accelerated the rapid development of SMPS technology. SMPS utilizes modern power electronics technology to control the on and off time ratio of switching transistors, maintaining a stable output voltage. Typically, SMPS consists of a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control IC and MOSFETs. Compared to linear power supplies, both have increasing costs with higher output power, but at different rates. At a certain output power point, the cost of a linear power supply may actually exceed that of an SMPS, marking a cost inversion point. With the development and innovation in power electronics technology, this inversion point is increasingly shifting towards lower output power levels, providing a broad development space for SMPS.
The development of SMPS towards higher frequencies is a key direction, enabling miniaturization and broadening its application areas, especially in **technology fields, promoting the miniaturization and portability of **technology products. Additionally, the development and application of SMPS are of significant importance in energy conservation, resource saving, and environmental protection.
